Gerald Freeman Many came from Britain and Europe where conditions were much the same. It was a hard time for workers to live in.

Arthur Dehn Must have been very tough times , remind s me of my Grandparents in Hari Hari living in a 2 roomed hut with 3 Little kids in 1906

Heather Newby yes.. Dad said when more kids came along.. the Dad would just build a lean -to on the back of the house... different from today where kids have their own room.

Lynnette Walford We had happy times in Denniston,as kids anyway,probably our parents thought differently,wondering where the money would come from to feed 7 kids ,but some families had 13 kids...

Craig Norman Not a lot of thought on the side of the Town Planners.

Anne Conaghan My grandparents lived there. Their wedding photograph is on the front cover of Stories from the Plateau by Norman Crawshaw, Grandma is dressed in black.
