Don Hutton: Wow! Too young (1) to remember that. There was another big snowfall in 1945 but don't know if any settled in Greymouth. Has it happened again since?

James Codyre: Thought it settled on Chunn's Hill last year?

Alan Walton: Remember it well, I had just started school,had photos of snowman we made.

George Gardner: Hey Don, thats the trouble with you young tykes - you have no idea of the tough world we lived in!

Maurice Alan Quinn: I remember Christchurch July 1945 - a month short of my fifth birthday; we lived at (what was then) 41 Garden Road in what is now Merivale - it did not survive the 2011 earthquake. I recall earlier snowfalls in Chch, but none after '45 - we left for Tuai, Waikaremoana Aug '48.
