Date Created9th January 2020CommentsCharles Richard Bruning If I am not mistaken this photo could have been taken between the cowshed and the Bruning family homestead Brunings Road Carters Beach. In those days the homestead was surrounded in Fur trees, looking through the trees you can see the Paparoa's sloping down to Charleston. The person the left could be Harry Bruning and the person on the right could be Red Duncan? (If this is a possibility I will try and get this photo to my cousin Harry in Wellington for verification.)

John Thomson I’m loving the old bike photos. The left one is a Velocette, pre-war, probably a 500cc. I think the other could be an Excelsior, again pre-war. There was a 250/350cc engine that looked like that which when tuned, went into the Manx-man racers.
