DescriptionOn Saturday the 9th of September 1967, the last day of passenger service between Westport and Greymouth, the morning railcars cross at Cronadun. "Rm" 52 standing on the main line, was working the 8am Westport-Greymouth service, while "Rm" 53, waiting on the loop, was working the 7.15am service from Greymouth. NZR Road Services coaches took over from the following Monday, and the railcars were transferred to the Christchurch-Picton route.PhotographerD. L. A. Bob Laing I used the Grey to Westport railcard service to go to and from University in ChCh in the mid 60s. Little did I know the service was going to close.
