Anne Conaghan I remember going to a wedding reception about 1958 .
Lorraine O'Donoghue My Mother in Law saw 2 young girls with backpacks sitting in there one Sunday evening with just a cup of tea. To her family’s horror she went in as she said they had no money and were hungry. Sure enough girls had arrived ahead of their money so she took them home and fed them and gave them a bed for at least a week. They remained in contact for many years.

Doris Blanchard George Samuel I believe that Harkers tearoom was in that position. I thought that Herb Moore’s was another sort of shop.

Sarah Ann Owen Tudor tea rooms downstairs a bit later owned by Charlie & Mrs King. They also catered for weddings upstairs and for a time had the Norcasa fish n chip shop close to there. I think mayb the 60's

Murray Roberts I checked with my mother who is in her 90s and she recalls that Moore's Tearooms was in Mackay Street between Tainui and Albert Street opposite Trumans Store. She said the tearooms were on the ground floor and the first floor was a dance hall where Saturday night dances were held.

Murray Roberts Jim Conaghan, No we were not related to Lester Roberts. My father was Alan Roberts. He was one of four Roberts Boys who grew up in Bright Street Cobden and then in Cowper Street.
Yes, as my mother said Moore's Tearooms were opposite Truman's Store in Mackey Street.
Trish Rennie I feel the above tea rooms was perhaps the one above the Tudor Tea Rooms as the windows appear similar to the ones still there....I can vividly remember spending time with Reggie n Clary Olsen in the bakehouse of of Harkers Cake shop....can remember the Tudor Tearooms next door looking much the same as the one pictured...
Carol Stewart This layout of the tables, cloths and chairs is similar to the memory I have of the dining room of the Inangahua Junction Hotel. I also remember streamers across the room. 1940s. :-)

Lorraine O'Donoghue Brian Longley no definitely Peel Street. They both died in 1967 and we took over the homestead. Son Peter lived in Nelson Quay.

Don Hutton Herb Moore's Tea Room and Harker's were the same premises at different times. Us teenagers went there for a feed sausages or whitebait, eggs and chips after the movies sometimes . Harvey Panther's piecart by the Argus office was popular too.
Geoffrey King Arbie Panther use to put possum meat in his pies.
Don Hutton Geoffrey King Well I'm still alive. Mind you if you added enough beetroot, spuds and tomato sauce you couldn't taste the meat!

Herb Moore's Function Lounge - Mackay Street closer to Tainui Street than Albert Street.
