There was a story within the company that the overburden stripping contract awarded to Downer had the usual Mines Dept clauses detailing the provision of water, electricity and other utilities by the Dept. This was ostensibily for running an office, workshop, lunchroom etc. The Dept was completely stunned when Downer rolled up with the Marion, complete with 5 inch diameter trailing power cable, and asked "where do we plug it in ??"
