I worked the bins in the mid 1950s until a big slip destroyed the conveyor, and the change was made to hydro mining, and I was not needed.

Still burning. You can see the smoke from the Springs Junction - Reefton road.

Very good coal from here. Mully put a drive in from down the bottom but hit methane. Burt Waghorn open cast it and flumed the coal down in plastic pipes. Kevin Burridge and another bloke took it over but it closed again.
