Brian McIntyre Just a guess outside the Town Hall. But can't explain the reflection of bush on windows but then maybe taken on Albert St to get the morning sunshine on them for the photo

Mary Moffitt Brian McIntyre. You are right. The windows look exactly like those on the Town Hall. These men have workers' hands, so could they have been the men who built it? It would be something to celebrate in their best clothes.

Geoffrey King Can u explain the reflection of bush in the windows as Brian McIntyre pointed out Would not be Cobden hill as too far away and opposite were buildings so they would be reflected any ideas

Geoffrey King Also from your historical knowledge of the time every person in the photograph has either a hat, cap or boater on his head. Was that a requirement / a dress code of the time, that men covered the top of their head
Cynthia McCaughan Geoffrey King hats were considered normal outdoor wear for both men and boys no matter rank or occupation
Don Hutton Town Hall. I agree with Tony. Windows architecture is same in all pics posted. Mainly working men (one boy) all wearing clothing of the early 20th century. Hats and caps were worn by men at work up to the 1950s at least. Not compulsory, they just did it.
Robin Morresey They certainly loved hats in those days, note the two top left they are wearing aprons.

Also I think that the shadowy reflection on the right window is not necessarily a bush as some suggest.
Don Hutton I agree Cynthia McCaughan. Window glass in those days could give a deceptive reflection.
Geoffrey King oh then what do you think it is then Cynthia Xmas tree decorations perhaps.....as I said its a mystery considering the location of the building
Linda Hughes Cynthia McCaughan I notice a number of very well dresses men in bowler hats too, wonder if it was a photo of all staff at the town hall.
