Ann Knipe You do. They were both in Tasman Sea Scout Venturer Unit and assisted the Cobden Cub Leaders every week for their Community Service. Tim and Chris Briggs assisted the Group as Venturer Scouts also.
Brett Baxendale The movement ceased to be a fraternity when the opposite gender was admitted.
Ann Knipe It was the best thing that ever happened to scouting lol.

Ann Knipe Cobden can prouldly say that we were the first Scout Group on the Coast to open it's door to girls. After that our Group became a 'family focused' group. Who said that girls cant do anything lol.

Greymouth scout group still has some of Cobden’s equipment - from the “built to last” days. We are still running cubs, scouts, and venturers - All though nowhere near 50 youth. We would run keas too if we had the leaders for it.

Being Ann’s assistant cub leader was a great thing in my life. Both my boys were in the pack too and I got huge amounts of pleasure from being in the pack as well. Great years to look back on.
