Jo Wakefield I was living in the schoolhouse at Camerons at the time and remember people using jiggers on the railway line in order to get home.
Chris Moriarty The day the railcar passengers were off loaded at otira onto a bus.....and when the bus reached Paroa.....they were off loaded again onto jiggers and crossed the creek on the rail bridge and picked on the Greymouth side.
David Honey Remember that flood well. The Sherlocks and another old couple living on the southern side got devastated by this flood, not that the pub was any better off.
