Jill Smith I remember a chimpanzee coming to Grey Main School in the 60s. We were allowed to cuddle it and it walked around holding pupils hands. It was also from Ridgeways Circus at Victoria Park. Imagine that being allowed these days.

Robyn Jackson Would that have been about the time- Curly A -- took an Elephant for a walk to Blaketown after a night out at the Gilmour..

John Paget I remember Ridgeways had an elephant that someone teased years before with food. It knew him again after some years and gave him a bit of a scare. They recall things for a long time.

Roger O'Regan Quite right John. That story was with Ridgeways to their end. Amazing circus stories abound......
