Ray Vincent Remember it as a covered petrol station, panel beating out back (where my dad worked for years) remember Laurie Baines working the front and if i recall Fizzer Williams doing oil and greasing?

Jon Elley Julie Howe , apparently we have been told they are doing it off a picture from around 1923 when it was in the new / old colour scheme . Looking real sharp the more that gets done .

Ray Vincent Hi Geoffrey, yes was large panel shop, mechanical typically undertaken at the bottom shop in town, thus the creation of the engine recon shop at the back, along from the Duke. (Tasman engine recon)

Noel Thomson Yeah Harold Robinson [our neigbour Ray Vincent] was the owner of Tasman Engine Reconditioners!!

Ray Vincent Noel Thomson correct Brick, he obtained it from Bill Steer when the Grey motors was split up and sold to Jim K.

Noel Thomson Hey i dont think he did sell it to JPK because Ray Robbie took over when Harols died and thats when he developed the trailer brake!!

Bill Garth We lived in the house next door (town side) in the early 40s. Fire station next door then the Recreation Hotel.
Don Hutton You can just see the old fire station and Rec Hotel on the far right.
Gavin Davy Really like the new colours going on the building shame we couldn't get a few of the other old art deco buildings around the town looking like that.

Donald Pearson Passed that building every day to and from school,certainly been there a long time,if I remember Patersons lived next door ,on the left,then Warick Rothwells vegy shop then my sisters place,Fred Goodall snr.
Margaret Laughton Fizzer ( my dad) worked at the down town Grey Motors but weekends work on the petrol pumps at High Street

Ceol Mhor NZ 1936 Ford V8, one of my fav cars, this pic of recent, could well be one of those in the line up above.

Paul Soster my father worked in the downtown ford motors in the office and poured petrol at the top shop on the weekends,remember running his tea over to him from Shakespeare st.
