Doreen Thomson My father worked on that dredge as part of the manpower scheme as part of the war effort during 1940 to 1945 we lived in the house up on the hill opposite the pub

Brian Gillooly Just briefly,after the War Dad was offered a job on the dredge in Malaysia but Mum said No. It was on Peninsula Malasia along with a lot of other dredges. I didn.t locate it in the late 80s as many had shut down. Believe it was great fishing in the residual dredge holes

Tom Hartill The Barrytown dredge didn't go to Malasia, it went to Queensland & used for tin mining.
