With 9.5 Dalray as the best four yr old in Australasia judged on three yr old standards would not be weighted out of the cup.
As reported in an article Melbourne Cup 2019: International three-year-olds to cop weight increase to even up playing field.
Except its not new it happened to Dalray, was it because of the publicity the horse brought and the money that was created not just by the owner but it appears media and V.R.C or was it something more.

Cyril Neville and the Famous Thumbed nose incident that almost caused a riot. It looks terrifying really right !! :) , although Dalrays injury was over stated and he did recover the rants in the press would not die.

Published by Peel Bros of Victoria who first leased the horse from your Grandfather, but he was abandoned when he failed to serve a mare for them. I then eventually purchased the horse from your Grandfather and he turned out a tremendous success as his problem was psychological.

Wayne Chapman Went to Grey Main school with Cyril Neville’s two children, Dallas & Raymond . Hence the name Dalray. He was shares in a private mine as I recall.

Len Brereton Cyril used to buy our silver pine posts off us at kotuķu one day he bought Melbourne cup up we all had hold cup he was wonderful horse

Myron Caldwell Dalray caused the Aussie bookies to loose a lot of money that day
