Glenn Johnston I did have my own, a white B1600 with canopy for 8 years or so. Started off driving Bedfords, then Mazda's, then Toyota's as runabouts during my eleven years with the NZFS.

Glenn Johnston When at Waimihia Forest (aka 60/8) in the late 1980's we still used a big 8 cylinder trailer pump that dated back to the 1930's or 40's. I never photographed it. Ray Kingi would know the pump I'm talking about from his NI days.

Glenn Johnston Yes he was. I remember B J (Gilby) as DR working out of the upstairs Central Districts office in Weld Street. I didn't have much to do with him but had dealings with most of the other staff. e.g. Norm Cole, Barney Ross, Terry Farrell, Alan Tinnelly, Perce White, John Kaio, Horse Gordon, Diane Burr & Lyn Tai. Not to be forgotten forester Ross Jackson though I had no work dealings with him.

Amanda Taylor Photo is taken near main road roundabout. Old houses behind are where the Challenge car wash is now. Building behind is our place at 68 Weld Street and building behind was demolished a couple of years ago.
