Date Created1st April 2020CommentsRoger Gardiner I worked with Lloyd in the 1960s 70s in Wellington when he was Chief Inspector of Mines. A lovely man who had some great stories, especially being a POW during WWII.

Peta Jones Ray Kearns Hi to you too! :) Did you know my Uncle, Aunt and cousin in Reefton. Jim, Pam and Peter Stephen?

Ray Kearns Yes I did. I used to buy icecreams from Jim. Pam used to breed pedigree dogs as a hobby.

Peta Jones Ray Kearns I used to be terrified of her dogs! :) Uncle Jim was the loveliest man, my mum's brother. I haven't seen my cousin Peter since my Dad's funeral in 2005. We've been trying to contact him.

Ray Kearns Those dogs were quite big from what I remember. Pam used to keep them well contained in their section so at least didnt get out onto the road. i havnt seen Peter since he was at High School.

Peta Jones Ray Kearns Pam had the dogs behind a wire fence in the back when we visited, I just recall them going crazy trying to get out, and barking. She did love them! :)
Here is what Peter looked like in 2005. We had a lovely chat, and I so wish we could have kept up contact.He seemed to be an off-the-grid type of person, so no email.

Peta Jones We used to go visit them in Christchurch! I remember Jessie well. My mum(Marjorie Stephen) worked as an assistant when he was store keeper. This was when she first arrived in Waiuta from Australia. Think Jessie did that too.

Peta Jones Barb, I suddenly thought of my parent's wedding. I don't remember who my mum's bridesmaid was and actually wondered earlier today if it might have been Jessie? The best man was Alec Bain Hogg.

Peta Jones Heather Newby I was just going to tell you, that would be nice! :) It's the Anglican church in Greymouth that burnt down. this was May 14th, 1949. So Marjorie(née Stephen) and Lloyd.

Janaka Mary Bartlett Harold Ord, husband of Jesse nee Banks.
Jesse was my Grandmother's sister (Alice Jane Bartlett).
