Geoffrey Bell: Here's a go at naming some of the children. The photo was most likely taken about 1930. On the horse is Billy Brereton.
On the Dray from left to right are: Fair headed girl could be Betty Jack or Joan Matson, next two boys are unknown and probably brothers, the girl holding the baby is possibly May Thomas or Joan Simpson, the next is unknown, the next is Mary Anne (Mickie) Crimmins, next unknown and the next standing at the back of the wheel is Patricia (Vonnie) Crimmins. The others at the back of the Dray are indistinguishable. The two girls on either side of Mickie Crimmins look like sisters.

Noeline Pinn Vic Smitheren. My most vivid memory of Vic was when he MC’d the dances. He had trouble with his dentures and as kids we would pretend we were Vic.Jessie, his wife was a friend of Mum’s and she was Robert’s godmother.

Trevor Molloy my memory is that Vic ' s surname was Smitherem please correct me if I am wrong .

David Verrall And a really good example of a tip-dray, used widely before motorised trucks for road-making. Westland Industrial Heritage Park has five, in various condition.
