Taken circa 1930 of members of the Blackball community going on a picnic, being driven on my grandfather's Leyland truck with solid rubber tyres. My grandfather, William (Dave) McGregor, is seen standing with his hand on the hood at the front. Family oral history has it that he drove this truck until it was ordered off the road for not having pneumatic tyres. It was kept in a shed at his sister in-law's property on Town Belt South (Road) in Blackball and, towards the end of its use, was only brought out for events such as this picnic.

What is presented here is a photo of a photo printed within "Historic Blackball", compiled by the Blackball History Group, 1993. I would love to have a copy of the original if there was anybody out there that might be able able to assist. Date of Photo1930Map^[1]ContributorKeith Funnell

Mel Riddle Felicity Pudds hi, that almost looks like a paper copy, which is always harder to work with. But if a neg popped up or the original photo, yes I believe I could do wonders on it

Felicity Pudds Jane Wells you were involved with this, who would you suggest might point Keith in the right direction?
Keith Funnell Mel Riddle ... yeah, the printed version in the book has the pixel density allowing you to almost count each pixel with the naked eye, but must say most of the images appear to be of lower pixel density in the book, so remain hopeful that someone's whanau has the negative tucked away. Currently don't know who's family was the original source. Maybe that's the angle for exploration?
