AddBy: Fish McKinnon25th Aug 2020 11:14PMOrwell Creek,was below our house.Butlers lived across the road,Fosters across the paddock, great place for big fat eels, floating down the Creek on car tubes,hearing stories of big Bertha that lived in the swamp below Gregory's house down by the railway tracks,My mum Marion McKinnon use to work for McGuire's, n Garwoods milking,up on the state farms passed the cemetery. Westweld Tony Martin and Richardson family helping with the honey,The old man Joe McKinnon worked for the Forestry Service,helped building the squash club,played Rugby league for Waro Rakau at Ngahere/..who remembers Wigan Park..we left in 1987 when Forestry Service dissolved. Hi to all my West coast Hill Billy's.. family n friends..
By: Richard Stratford5th Apr 2020 4:50PMAren't some of the images in this album, actually showing the big Brownlee mill at Bell Hill ?? It was a mile or so south of the junction of the Nelson Creek/Haupiri/Rotomanu roads and only operated for a brief period before being dismantled and re-located.
