DescriptionPhoto from my Great Grandfather, Andrew Oliver SCOTT from Karangarua. Most are of people we have been unable to id. The first 1st one is at Trentham Military Training Camp. My Great Uncle Robert Patrick MacIntosh is the middle man front row. He served from 11 Oct 1916 in the NZ Rifle Brigade, 12th Reinforcements 1st Battalion, E Company & was Killed in Action at Bapaume, France 30 Aug 1918 serving with the Wellington Infantry Regiment.

Heather Newby it was awful... i read in the old papers at work that there was a ban on reporting the gruesome realities of war during WW1.. these guys had no idea what they were getting into,,, and it was a squabble over land!! not even defending the Motherland!
