Edited
Kerry Kerr

I finally found this movie on YouTube last year after looking for documentary information on Stan Graham. Such a sad story, shows what can happen when you push an otherwise everyday person to the brink in a heavy handed manner. Some empathy on all parts could have avoided this terrible event.
Erin Dense
Greg Hine I remember watching this in high school English, such a hard hitting tragedy, brilliant movie!
Daaron Turton
Greg Hine taking a mans guns he hunts to supply family food with..the police used a bullshit excuse..
Kaye McNabb
My mother was in the movie along with a niece and some cousins. Mum also knitted homes pun jerseys for all the stars in the cast and the director.. They called her as an extra every dah so that she could sit and knit and they could see their jerseys growing. She got paid each day and also paid for the jumpers. They paid the extras in West Coast vouchers so that the money would stay in the coast economy. Great fun.
Phil Wright
Kaye McNabbStan was in a bad head space, farming was very hard then,it's was a terrible tragedy.A similar thing happened in Australia a few years back with an old farmer, nothing is more dangerous than a man with nothing to lose...
Kerry Molloy
It is a fascinating yet tragic study of a couples descent into irreversible psychosis set against rural isolation and the early years of the war and the tragic consquences for all..This discussion has appeared on here before and did at times become very uncomfortable .Out of respect for the relatives of those affected Ill leave it at that
Craig Smith
Kerry Molloy one of our neighbour's in Blackball stayed in kowhiterangi when she was a kid. She had rellies there. Apparently Grahams missus was a right piece of work and didn't help his mental health at all
Kerry Molloy
there is a term in psychiatry called folie-a duer" being the shared delusion".yes this is a classic example but also what happens as peoples self isolation slowly increases and finally they have noone but themselves to turn to for hope and strength to cope.if as in this case they are severely dysfunctional already -it takes very little to fan the embers of the nightmare.
Joy Meyer
The cast and crew were lovely people. My ex was a driver for the actors. He picked up Jack Thompson and others and drove them out to Kowhitirangi for filming. I met most of the actors at the end of filming at an end of filming party. Bad blood was a brilliant movie.
Sophia Benjamin
Visited the McGhies there in 1950.

It sounds like everyone's relative was in the Movie. Both my grandparents were in the Movie and my Cousin played Stan Grahams Son. I guess they must've needed a lot of extra's and it probably wasn't difficult to get people to play dress up for the day.
Greg Chilton-Smith
Both of my parents were in the movie

Ralph Chisnall
Greg Hine You must have missed the bits about him accusing the neighbours of poisoning his cows and threatening to kill them. He was psychotic with an evil woman behind him urging him on. That's the reason for the confiscation of firearms and no batshit crazy conspiracy about picking on an everyday man.
Greg Hine
Ralph Chisnall so the way to calm down a psycho with a gun without getting anyone hurt is to go into his house and try strongarm him into submission? Seems sensible…….
Steph Millett
I have the original court summons for Stan Graham to hand his rifle in.
