Anyone have any details of the undertaker listing himself as "William M. Sampson Undertaker" in Albert Street, Greymouth ?

I see PapersPast have adverts for his services from the early 1900s, but I am naively hoping that if it was a family business then family might still have records of my great grandfather's (Samuel Hill) funeral in July 1921 (W. Sampson is listed as the undertaker).

Our family is on a mission to see if there is any record of the monumental mason involved and, therefore, what was originally inscribed on the lid of his family burial plot in the Karoro Cemetery.Map^[1]ContributorKeith Funnell

Keith Funnell Paul Robin ... excellent. It’s a long stretch, but who knows.

Lois Wotton Keith Funnell the Paterson family purchased the Sampson funeral home in Albert Street and I believe they moved to Ashburton where they set up another funeral home. I believe it is still there now. They may be able to help.

Keith Funnell Nicola Whitehead ... ahuh! Another useful snippet. Can’t see many adverts for monumental masons in Greymouth in 1921... just a rather prolific advertiser by the name of Thompson based in Hokitika, so I’m sure there must have been a more local one
