Bruce Knight Looks like the Southern Cross, flown from Australia to New Zealand by Kingsford Smith (I stand to be corrected). I think it landed somewhere on the Coast but can’t be sure. It was I think a Fokker Trimotor.

Rachel A Cook Seen a southern cross plane photo in ikamatua pub many years ago. It had a few old ikamatua local family names like from what I remember. I don't think it is exactly the same photo that was on display but it was a huge crowd in ikamatua that day from photo.

Heather Newby Mitchell Hutchings Probably 1928. On later flights the aircraft had fitted exhausts sweeping over the leading edge of the wing. (see photo). Also the serial changed early on between flights I think.

Des Kennedy Dad went fod a flight on the Southern Cross when it landed at Ikamatua. I have already posted the souvenir ticket on the West Coast Recollect site and a photo that dad took at ths time.
