Date Created12th May 2020CommentsJohn Rosanowski I recall reading that "Brownings" Pass was the preferred route for East-West travel by early Maori. Sadly this came to an end when a party of travellers died in a heavy snow. A rahui (correct word?) was imposed on the route and it was never used again.
