Peta Jones Me too! I bought a pretty amber broach with my pocket money when I was 10. Had it until we moved to Los Angeles in the 70s. There was a burglary at our flat, and they took my broach! Grrrrrrr.

Don Hutton Yes. Russell King will know when the Dominion closed. Roy Anderson was a year or two ahead of me at GTHS in the early 1950s so his shop may not have been built until at least the 1960s. Woolworths was a treasure trove when we were children!

Alan Sheehan After the Dominion was pulled down the empty site was used for a few promotional groups, I remember mid 60’s a demonstration being held using the new ‘jaws of life’ to cut people out of a wrecked car when one of the rescuers screamed out, the jaws had closed on his fingers and was rushed to hospital. Anyone else remember that Friday evening ?
