Diane Mary Rossman Loved their Chelsea buns. Glazed sticky, and just sultanas and cinnamon. No custard no icing just delicious. Mmmmm

Bazza Morland A 'straw' was highly advised to aid consumption of their mince pies though !
Sue McCallum I remember eating Stevensons pies I believe made in Reefton and distributed around coast stores they were a square pie best ever pastry was heaven along with its contents

Douglas Lineham Pies from Osler's Bakery in Wairoa on the east coast of the North Island were some of the very best I have ever had the pleasure of eating. And, I loved eating pies in those days.

Tony Kokshoorn On my first day as an apprentice in 1970 an Owens Meat Pie burnt my fingers after a hot mince eruption down my hand. I changed to Bacon and egg the next day..Delicious. Some things you just don't forget.

Vincent Knapp Where was Ernest Adams cake shop in town ?? if the goods train from Chch got held up they sent the cakes etc to the hospital and not sure where else back in the 50 ,s

Such a busy street that theres no body to shift the gossiping cyclest along.

Remember going there as a young fella in the mid 1960s with my mate Wayne Henham at night while his Dad Dick Henham made the pastry for the next days bake, we scored a few nice treats.
