Being that the tramway ran from Gladstone, was it a part of Ogilvie’s mills? My Dad Lou Knight and his father Tom Knight both worked at Ogilvie’s as bushmen, felling trees in the Marsden area, I believe. My Dad left Ogilvie’s in 1940 to go to war.

Robin, Dad (Jim Rhodes) says the old lines were pulled up as they finished running on them. They went to Canterbury. -used for cattle yards, cattle stops and Strongman mine and a power project. (19 miles).

Drove through to Dunganville from Moana via Maori Gulley Road a few weeks back in the Subaru Outback. Great fun but not recommended!!!! My wife's still grumbling about 'shortcuts'!

Mate and I looked for it in his robbie last year but didnt find it.
There were 2 massive pine trees at the east end I thinkOne of our work mates went across it for a look

We also had trouble finding it as pine trees jad had grown so huge. Chris Cowan flew us over it, so when we came in by road we were in the right area. Still had trouble but finally we went into a cutting and at the end was the viaduct. Walked out onto it, but the sheer drop was almost 100 feet, so came back to the side. The bushmen going over it in the railcar every day must have closed their eyes.
