Going by the dress and general scene the photo looks earlier than 1926.

Great photo. Must be a lot earlier than 1923 because it was replaced by a new bricks and mortar school in 1914. There are plenty of reports about it on Papers Past. This older building was wood and its condition deteriorated badly hence its replacement… See More

My mother's first week at Grey Main was the Murchison Earthquake.
She vividly remembered as a 5 year old the piano rolling across the floor.
As they ran out of the building, Bricks and Mortar were falling all on them.
Mum was born in 1924 so she started school 1929 and it was definitely a brick school in 1929.

This is the bricks and mortar school built c.1914 to replace the 1876 original. This is the Grey Main I attended 1943 - 50.

Hi Geoffrey and Don.I have found a Jubilee book and you are correct the concrete building replaced the 1876 school in 1914.
