Alistair Burbury - My Grandfather (EPH Burbury - Glynn Wye Station & Mr McLean) involved in getting the Lewis Pass constructed. Mr Lewis was the surveyor using an old Maori Greenstone Route.

Barry Butcher I remember Hughie Lewis I worked with his son Barry at the Reefton post office back in the early fifties.

Peter Rosanowski Barry Lewis was a very handy boxer and I well remember we (probably brother Brian, and maybe John, and me - we all boxed) getting a ride with Hughie and son Barry to a boxing tournament somewhere on the Coast. I also remember my dad, Gus, saying that Hughie Lewis always told a good story about how the Lewis Pass was named after him, having travelled first through the Pass!! Very sad to read that Barry had cancer.

Kevin Douglas Barry was a champion cross country runner at school also did a bit of boxing I think, his nickname at school was Lofty, his dad Hughie was known not to be argued with, tough man.

Arthur Bass I can remember them living down where Gary Lewis lived in later years. We lived down the end of Main Street.

Barry Butcher Yes Kevin I recall Barry winning the cross country run by the proverbial country mile.

Barry Caldwell Peter,where is Brian now.l got in touch with him some time ago but lost touch with him. Cheers.

Geoffrey Collis Hughie Lewis and my father Jack Collis were very close friends from school days until he passed, they went to Australia on holiday dad said Hughie spent most of the trip on the wrong side of a police cell as he couldn`t take the Aussie`s smart ass comment`s about our love of sheep lol.
