The spectacular Water fall that Wesley Creek is, was named after John Wesley, he married Mary Anne Margaret Hamon, whom is buried and died here in 1867. The had 3 children John, Annie (whom died young) and also my great Grandfather Charles Wesley. Mary's parents are buried in the Symond Street grave yard in Auckland, her mother Suzanne Touzel-Hammond died in 1858, after arriving in NZ on the ship the Solent in 1857, along with her husband Charles Hamon and other children from Jersey, Channel Islands.
