Description Greymouth aerodrome was a busy place in the late 1970's early 1980's. With Coast Air and Mountain Helicopters operating full time from there and many other aircraft coming and going. This second batch from my old slide collection covers some of the aircraft passing through and other activities. There is one shot taken at Hokitika airport that I have included because the aircraft was a frequent visitor to Greymouth. around 1978, I remember having to leave class to go and get two ponies off the aerodrome as there was a hospital plane ready to take off. One pony was my daughters, the other was Blair Pikes.

Glenn Johnston Doug Crossan is a name that springs to mind as a Thrush Commander pilot when dothi spraying was done at Mawhera Forest in the late 70's. That plane had yellow wings though but it was the same grey cabbed spray truck as shown in one of the photos used during that operation therefore it may have been the same plane with a different paint job?
