Deer cullers bivvy, central Westland

DescriptionThere are a couple of historic things in this photo. Firstly the snow squashed deer cullers bivvy dating from the late 1950's. It is in the central Westland high country and is still there. Very few people visit it or have done so since it was abandoned in the 1960's.

Secondly note the bottle on top of the door. Whilst looking under the floor of the derelict bivvy I found a full, labelled bottle of Melhuish's worcester sauce that dates circa 1960. If any one wants the bottle I left it there. To walk in and get the bottle would take one day(+) just going one way.Map^[1]ContributorGlenn Johnston
