Date Created19th December 2018CommentsAnne Honey Lovely theater in the 50s screened titanic and had the lobby beautifully decorated. They also had Peyton place. Lots of local theater groups performed there too and wasn't the school music festivals held there too.
Don Hutton First saw the National Orchestra play there in 1949. Also many Greymouth Operatic Society shows which my parents participated in. Friday night pictures in the 1950s. Rock hard icecreams.

Maxine Hales Saunders I remember going to the movies there on Saturday s, we used to walk from Cobden, saw the movies then called in and got some fish n chips and eat them walking home . Used to love to go back the following Saturday to see the next episode of the serial,eg famous five or such like, it was played before half time, then they had a Birthday club.Was great day.
Maxine Hales Saunders We had a HALF A CROWN , which was equal to 25 cents. Think it cost 15 cent to get in and we had 10cents to get our fish n chips.

Billy T James put his autograph and hand impression in concrete in the doorway of the Regent. It's still there but it's buried. WHY.

Yep. They started in Mackay at I think, around the wrong side of the roundabout, down Arney st. Where the circuit was after that I wouldn't have a clue.
