Rob Little Shame they didn't keep going to the Hollyford when they could back then.

Noeline McCaughan Well they tried to do it without consent, I understand that the road from Arawata bridge, up beside the Jackson river and over the Monkey gorge to the was dozed out without getting the necessary papers ticked.

Margaret Mckee Maybe this great photo was showing the repairs to the existing road as there was a road from Haast to Jackson Bay in the early 1950s.

John Paget I visited Jacksons bay in 1966. The wharf was not new or the road. The only permanent resident was the road man. He lived in hut over the road from the wharf. does anyone know who he was.
