I just realised that being old has it's better moments...I saw the glacier like that when I was 3 years old. That is a memory from 81 years ago.

I would say this is actually the tartare riverbed, and you can't see the glacier from there at all now

The black and white photo pic is taken on a riverbed a further North of the Waiho, it is not the Waiho Riverbed. The coloured photo is the Waiho river.
