An old newspaper cutting I have states that "Henry and Janet Gaylor built the Marquis of Lorne Hotel during the early days, and later the Royal Mail Hotel at Woodstock. They had five daughters and one son. The son was killed in World War One." The daughters were Janet (Hetty), Caroline (Carrie), Alice, Gladys, and Pretoria (Beaucie). The son was Henry Charles Douglas Gaylor.

Well Douglas Urson Gaylor there are a great many descendants of Henry Charles Douglas Gaylor in New Zealand particularly here on the West Coast. IMO Mike Keenan's cousin, Stephen bears a strong resemblance to Henry Gaylor. I'll butt out now as I'm not part of the family but some of your relations are members of this site and I hope they make contact with you.

Mike Keenan It was the Gaylor/Chamberlain family reunion. I have a lovely photo of Aunty Gladys with my close family. She was the last of the Gaylor Family from Woodstock. (Alice Winter nee Gaylor was my Grandmother).
