Did they own the pub Pam or just attending the closure. One of our ancestors ( Punch) owned a pub in Goldsborough at some stage in the past.

I remember the Wytiskies (not certain of the spelling) were the owners in the 1940's. It was closed along with many other old hotels in the late '40's after there was a change in the licensing laws.

I recently purchased a copy of Lokking at the West Coast in which editor Gordon Howitt recalls Russ Hibbs recollection of the pubs closure in 1953, the licencing commission being described as a gang of bandits and local undertaker Les Patterson conduction a ceremonial burial of the licience
