Walked to school using that bridge. Often frosty in winter. Used to run to get to the steam coming from trains shunting beneath to warm up.

Used to pop in to Dad, Eric Tones, work after school. He was a painter for the railways and worked out of the sheds that were on the same side as the photo was taken

Debbie Hughes Eric worked for the Signals branch. They painted the signals, crossing alarms and the signal relay locations. Houses were panted by guys from the Ways and Works branch.
