I reckon it was 1960-62 cos our family went to the opening night when they had the most amazing coloured lights.. was so exciting.. and I kept squealing with delight and Mum threatened to whack me if i didnt shut up

My parents use to take me down at night to watch the fountain change colour. It was a "real after tea in the dark treat". We would sit in the car and watch. Many years ago now.
