After a few home games on the Cobden Domain they transferred to the Recreation Grounds in Greymouth,where playing conditions were a considerable improvement on the Domain Grounds,.The Committe approached the Greymouth Harbour Board for permission to develop two playing fields at the top end of Cobden Island.Soon after approval had been obtained , a contract was let to have the area levelled and sown in grass and fenced.The new grounds were offically opened on September 17th,1949, and named Nimmo Park, after the late James Nimmo Snr, who played an important part in the formative years of the clubs existence.All early get togethers were heald in the Fire Brigade rooms in Fox Street..In June, 1956 the club members put in a tender of ten pounds for an old railway house at Totara Flat, and it was transported to Nimmo park for their clubrooms.

I worked with Len Sequin at the Greymouth Railway workshops, a really nice guy, his wife was the Grey Main teacher Sheila Sequin.
