I think a lot of our photos will just disappear into space as I am certainly guilty of not printing them from phones and iPads. I do have old family photos and stories that I have been able to share with our extended families so hope that will keep going into the future.

Hi Gae, can I suggest that you write those stories of yesteryear down which will give them a greater chance of surviving into the future
]=Gae Galway
Bob Laing Have been collecting those stories from several of my much older family members (siblings and cousins) over many years and have written and shared them. These families all grew up very close to each other in Karamea. Cousins all together, not like these days when they are scattered around the world and in lots of cases have never met their extended family.

What I have been doing across the family is rescuing old photos that are not named but I or others can identify. Digitising those and family photos that are named and circulating them to the family. Unfortunately I have seen suitcases of old photos that can’t be identified and will ultimately be dumped

Bob Laing yes.. my brother told me when the Cobden dump was open .. he found whole albums of family photos.. no names.. nothing to identify them.. such a shame

This is the reason I do scrapbooking and have a Heritage Album with photos of parents, their parents and Grandparents etc. I am starting to go forward with sibling, cousins, their children and any grandchildren. I am sending letters to cousins and asking all the information so it is more accurate. I may need to start another album or make a small booklet.

Helen Joan Forrest awesome I love scrapbook

The poem will be a sharp reminder to some who have old photograph albums to make certain that name, places and events are recorded alongside the photos. Also if you have an album and cannot be bothered tracking down the names, hand it on to a family m
