Yes I can remember I delivered the argus for Ron morris around runanga and Dunollie we would meet the queen mary on the seven mile road and take the papers back to Ron's to roll at 4am. Every second Saturday we would collect subscriptions and I got more in tlps than wages. This was on a Saturday after miners were paid on Friday. I also delivered the evening star for June westwood. Might endorse alan peglys comment. Rain hail and snow. And kids think they have it hard today
