Thanks. So many names l remember. Just before my time but l knew so many of them. And taught some of them. Laugasan girls were neighbors when we lived in Moana and so were the Klemples. Wonderful memories. Still in contact with June Lemon. Joni still sleeping in the bed Ted Lemon built. I often wonder where the other people are. Isobel Chamberlain and Robert stick in m mind. Met Mervin Valenski and wife in south Westland. Could go on for hours

Yes Bryce I have great memories of being at school in RuRu and also wonder where the pupils that were at school 1946 to 1954 Merv Fay and I all went to school there as well as our mum Bene Lemon and brothers Dick and Bill They were the best times Can remember a lot of people in above photo

Did l tell you about your Dad teaching me to be an explosive expert? We had a long drop at the end of the garden. When a indoor toilet was approved the plumber would not be able to dig the hole for the septic tank so I started to dig it. There’s a thick hard pan layer which I could not make an impact so up to Ruru. Quarter plug of gel ignite would fix it. Seeing I was going to blow thirty feet from two houses away Ted decided to come down and supervise. Good job. Covered the charge with a sheet of tin and several solid railway sleepers. Fired. Sleepers flew twenty feet in the air. Good hole started. Ted went home. I now was able to continue blasting. Septic tank successfull. We now had the second loo in Moana.
