The cowshed was built by my grandfather James Piner in 1946. There used to be paddocks on the sea side. All washed away now. Had lots of fun plying in the hay in there as a child.

Be interesting to know when it was built. The place has obviously changed a lot in a relatively short space of time due to the building of the road and coastal erosion.

Aunt and uncle had a batch at 14 mile most awesome part of the world , spent many happy hold there, I remember on a big sea waves would wash under the batch, on stilts luckily Often wonder what it’s like now , ???

I remember this well Sheryl....my sister and I stayed with your Mum...Dorrie during the day when my mother had our younger brother....was our first encounter with "play dough" that your lovely Mum made for us and at day's end Dad would pick us up again in the works grader....all 63 years ago...great memories.....

One of the favourite parts of my frequent holidays at the 12 mile was walking down the beach to get the milk and cream, coming back and having porridge with fantastically thick, fresh cream and brown sugar. Had my favourite plate, which I still have, it must be 100 or more years old as Uncle Laurie had had it for a long time before that.
