Faye Cillekens and hand made and smocked, hand washed with home made soap and ironed with a heavy iron heated on the stove. (Which you carried the wood and coal for and kept going all day through summer so you could make a hot meal.

Could also be shell necklaces that used to be the rage in those days. I have one and they are very tiny shells with a pointed end.
