A group of us on motorcycles, mostly aged under 20, went to Greymouth for a weekend in May 1971. The Gilmer was the only pub that had rooms available when we got there. Spent the evening drinking beer, stayed over either one or two nights. Woken in the morning with a cup of tea. I think the room rate was about $2. Memory is vague - nearly 50 years ago -
Dennis Wick
Annie Swain naughty, legal drinking age then was 21.

Glenys Elizabeth Martin before yr time late 50's, Pippy Sothern had the house. We would kick the football around the back yard of Gilmer and if it went over the fence she wd pick it up and burn it. Was really scared of her and needing a shave she looked frightening.
Glenys Elizabeth Martin

Trevor Keith Scott Him and Bobby had "jump" behind the bar. They put their hands on each others shoulders and jumped up and down.

Kerry Keating Seen that Kerry, first time Ron asked Bobby for a jump, she said what right now? we are serving, Ron said that's okay they wont mind. We were all looking forward to this display of romance so we all leaned on the bar to get a better look.…

Russell King was it Veiceli to ‘64 ? Did they go in when you left ? I think they were there until the Shands took over. Our family was ‘68 to ‘90 and we sold the building in ‘98.
