I have a pile of quirky things about Hoki that Ed produced. One little card just says, "Use the Guardian, the Times are hard and the Truth hurts". Older people will get it! Gary Keown in the late 60's when my mother was librarian at the Carnegie building in Hoki & the museum out the back of the same building I got to see a lot of Ed. He was constantly telling me stories of early Hokitika and explaining museum exhibits. e.g. I knew of the mineral specimens collected by Charles Douglas at the museum something subsequently forgotten and then rediscovered with great fanfare by staff but not a revelation to me thanks to Ed. He printed a lot of stories and gimmicky things on cards such as the thread starter example. He gave me various stuff he printed and I still have it. Loved interacting with his talking parrot Cocky.
