Didn't the Queen train it into Greymouth 1954?

Kyle Webster Think she left by train but came by plane to Hokitika. Apparently one side of the road was tarsealed to give her a smooth ride. Remember watching the train go past Omoto. The Duke was outside looking at the river. Dad gave him a whistle from the road and he gave us a wave.

OMGosh my dad Tommy Teika was just talking to me about how he was part of the crew who worked on it. They had a big celebration after it was finished at Omoto with a band and George Kirby their IPW boss rode the jigger with a rope tied to the front of the train

Stopped using viaduct as soon as road and rail realignment was finished about 2 years before Slip.
