When my Dad met the Prince in 1935 Prince recalled his visit to Hokitika and Dad recalled that to honor the occasion they were given a day off school.

I remember this as the Government Building, went to the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages, but not the Magistrates Court. The old Post Office, which was next door looked impressive.
