This would have been John Thomas Jackson though his father John Jackson had money in the venture. I'd heard talk and read that there was once orcharding in the Arahura.

I'd be interested to know where the sections described are but don't have the historic cadastral maps or have professional access to historic land title information. Does anyone know where exactly Jackson's Garden and Farm was?

I've found the answer to my own question! The farm, orchards, market garden were on the south side of the Arahura River and not on the Arahura Pa (north) side of the river but roughly opposite, upstream of the old Thompson's bridge.Date of Photo1869ContributorGlenn Johnston
